A Room With A View

A Room With A View Overlooking Shinjuku East & Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden On A Rainy Day

A quiet non-smoking high floor room, preferably with a nice view, if possible; that’s my usual request when it comes to hotel accommodation while traveling, especially for work, where a good night’s undisturbed sleep is a must to be at one’s best for meetings the following day. It doesn’t happen all the time I get a room with a view; at times, when things do come together, I do get a room which offers a fantastic view of the surrounding neighbourhood, where I can spend some time just looking out and below and partake visually in its architecture, landmarks and ongoing activities, tells a lot about the place or city one’s in.

  1. Beautiful shot. I like the framing of the skyline within a window within a dark room. I lived in Japan in the late 1960s and, so soon after the end of WWII, before the building boom started, it was always hard to get a panoramic shot (except from the Tokyo Tower).

    Well done.
