Thaipusam 2016 @Batu Caves – Portraits

Portraits, the impromptu type which registers the unguarded expression and emotion of the subject at a moment in time is especially interesting for me. At Batu Caves on Thaipusam day where it’s brimming with people and vibrant colours amid a hive of activities, there were certainly ample opportunities to shoot some portraits. Here are some I took of devotees in the main cave whose moment resonated within me in a way I wanted to photograph it, and have named them accordingly. A word of warning, the last image may disturb or upset some viewers.
