Sun Comes Up, Its Friday Morning

Beautiful Golden Sunrise Among The Banjaran Titiwangsa

I am not a keen early riser but I do love and enjoy the early mornings, when the cool and quiet stillness of the night gradually ebbs, and nature gradually springing back to life with the stirring of human activities, amid a sunrise signalling the start of a brand new day. The potpourri of fresh smelling invigorating morning air, the sounds and sights during this time of day is simply glorious, a celebration of life. And in Kuala Lumpur, on a clear day and the right atmospheric conditions, some pretty amazing sunrise and sunset can be had. Something which I have in mind to photograph given the recent long spell of festive holidays where I have more flexibility with time to try this. But alas, its the monsoon season, days are mostly cloudy with heavy thunderstorms and the occasional bouts of clear sunny weather. This calls for patience in finding the window of opportunity if one wants to photograph either the sunrise or sunset during this time. My lucky break came last Thursday night/Friday morning, the night was clear and early morning was looking good with a clear blanket of stars twinkling happily above. The thought of driving out and hiking up a hill at 5.30 in the morning was a little daunting, but the prospect of getting some much needed exercise (especially after the festive binge) and nice photos were sufficient incentive to spur me to action, by the time i reached the peak, it was just nice to catch the beautiful sunrise. The sun comes up, its a beautiful Friday morning …
