Here's Looking At You

On a recent walk at a disused mining pond, I came across quite a number of dragonflies flying and flitting about among the vegetation, and hovering above the pond’s surface. The dragonfly in the photo was quite approachable, it found a decaying plant to perch on comfortably, occasionally flitting away, only to return to the same spot – I noted this behavior after observing it for a while. This gave me the opportunity to get close and try out a number of compositions with this little fella.
